Dragon Eye Mini Flashlight, inspired by the How to Train Your Dragon TV show.

This is the mini (smaller) “Dragon Eye”, I also sell a full-sized (larger) one, see my shop for details. This was my original design, It was designed to be held by smaller hands (children) and played with, it is not a realistic (to the TV show) prop, the larger one is more realistic.

Flashlight

This is a real working Flashlight. This is not a projector, it does not project images onto the wall.
An Ozark Trail brand flashlight ($9.99 + Tax) from Walmart is used inside this toy. I have tried cheaper flashlights but they are not bright enough to be visible during the day, this Ozark Trail flashlight is.
The flashlight is optional but I do not upcharge for including it, I include it for what it cost me. So I highly recommend it.
The button on the back is functional, it is the power (on/off) button.
The toy can be taken apart to change the battery, the head and rear just twist on/off like a giant nut on a bolt.

Quality

This toy is solid and has been designed to be played with, it will not likely break from use or small drops.
The middle pieces are a puzzle, you rotate each ring to line up the images.

Vs. Fullsized Dragon Eye Flashlight

This Dragon Eye has a smaller, dimmer, flashlight. It takes 3 AAA batteries.
This Dragon Eye has less details on the neck than the fullsize.
This Dragon Eye has 7 rings, the full-size has 9 rings (like the show) with more dragon puzzles.
The “key” (teeth near the rear) are not removable like they are on the fullsize.
The size is better to be held by smaller hands (children)
The area for personalization is smaller than on the full-size, which results in lower quality 3d printed names, if you want personalization with many characters I would suggest the full-size Dragon Eye.

Paint

This is hand-painted using acrylic paint, this is not painted using a spray gun and stencils like the more mass-produced (yet more expensive) options found on Etsy. This may have imperfections as it is hand-crafted, but that should make it feel more realistic to the show and not a mass-produced toy.
If you purchase the painted option it will be coated in Mod-Podge clear coat to protect the paint from water and sun damage (fading).

What is in the box?

A display stand is included because the toy itself is fairly round and tends to roll off the shelf. The stand is made of TPU. TPU is a plastic that is very soft, more like a rubber or silicone.

Estimated Time

This Dragon Eye design contains 25 parts (1 head, 2 eyes, 1 body tube, 7 rings, 1 button, 1 button gem, the back is printed in 2 pieces, 1 TPU flashlight sleeve, and 1 stand. This takes a total of 2-3 days to print. I hand-paint the item, which takes me 2-3 hours (6+ hours to dry), and then Mod Podge / Clear coats the entire thing (12+ hours to dry). It takes me about 3-5 days to produce the item.
I typically do have 1 premade and unpainted, which still takes me 1-2 days to paint (and let dry before shipping). If I get multiple orders at once (including other items that I need to print, I have 1 printer) it may take me the full 5 days. If you want customizations the head alone takes 14.5 hours to print (plus custom design + paint time).
